Verdict reached in trial of man accused of killing Grantville gun store owners and their grandson

COWETA COUNTY, GA — A Coweta County jury convicts a man of murdering two Grantville gun store owners and their grandson.

A jury found Jacob Muse guilty of multiple counts of malice murder, felony murder and more late Monday afternoon.

Evelyn and Richard Hawk, both 75, and their grandson 18-year-old Luke Hawk were shot to death at the family business, Lock, Stock, and Barrel Shooting range in April of 2022.

Tommy and Evelyn Hawk had run Lock, Stock & Barrel and been a part of the small, tight-knit community for nearly 30 years. Their grandson Luke was on spring break from high school, helping his grandparents at the shop.

Luke Hawk’s father, Coweta County Coroner Richard Hawk Jr., found the bodies of his family.

Police say Muse stole more than 40 guns, many of which were found with him when he was arrested in College Park.
