GRIFFIN, Ga. — Warrants obtained by WSB-TV reveal new details about the abuse a Griffin couple accused of trying to starve their 10-year-old son to death are accused of inflicting on him.
Krista and Tyler Schindley were arrested earlier this week after their emaciated son was found wandering the streets looking for food. He weighed just 36 pounds at the time.
According to the warrants, the abuse took place over a period of three years from May 12, 202 to May 12, 2023.
Warrants state that the Shindleys intentionally withheld food, locked the boy in his bedroom for extended periods and left him at home alone with no access to lights, food, clothing or adult interaction or help on multiple occasions.
