ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta police are investigating after a woman was shot to death in the early morning hours of New Year’s Eve.

On Tuesday, officers got a call around 8 a.m. to the Reserve at Hollywood Apartments located at 1634 Hollywood Road in northwest Atlanta.

When police got there, they said they found a 25-year-old woman dead from a gunshot wound inside a third-floor apartment.

APD said they have two persons of interest.

They said there is no threat to the public and everyone who was involved is at the police headquarters being interviewed.

Police said a female shooter called 911 to report the shooting.

“It appears there was an escalating dispute between the two,” Homicide Commander Lt. Andrew Smith with the Atlanta Police Department said.

He said the argument was over a man with a mutual relationship between the two women.

Someone who knew the victim said the 25-year-old was a mother to three young children and the man involved was the father.
