NEW YORK — A man has been taken into custody Friday after climbing to the top of the Brooklyn Bridge, forcing it to close in both directions, and threatening to jump.
The man, who has not been identified, was seen climbing to the top around noon, WPIX reported.
The despondent man sat on a ledge of a bridge tower while police talked him down. He asked for two cigarettes and a lighter. When he finished smoking the second cigarette he came down with authorities, WABC reported.
