MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — A Texas driver hit a deer then was impaled by a fence post Tuesday morning after his truck ran off the road and crashed into a fence.
Officials said the driver of a Chevrolet truck hit a deer around 4 a.m. on Highway 75, KTRK reported.
The driver then ran off the road and collided with a fence at a trailer sales company. Authorities said the man was able to call for help.
Rescuers arrived and found the mangled pickup among fence debris. A fence post had gone completely through the driver’s body.
It took rescuers about 30 minutes to free the man. He was then taken to a hospital with part of the fence still in him. He is in critical condition, KTRK reported.
