A retired Delta pilot wants the Atlanta-based airline to stop paying executive bonuses until it funds retired pilots' pensions.
Kenneth Lewis filed the shareholder proposal in early January. Delta intends to block it from going to a vote unless compelled by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Delta terminated its pilot pension plan while in bankruptcy. Retired pilots have filed a separate appeal with the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. over the lost pension benefits.
Lewis is vice chairman of the Delta Pilots Pension Preservation Group, but filed this proposal on his own.
