BUTTE COUNTY, California — New York Giants kicker Aldrick Rosas was arrested for misdemeanor hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license following a Tuesday morning crash in Butte County, California.
According to the California Highway Patrol report, “alcohol impairment is believed to be a factor in the collision.”
Rosas, 25, was driving a black Chevrolet SUV when a T-bone collision occurred around 8:25 a.m., the report stated.
According to ESPN, witnesses reported seeing the 2018 Pro Bowl kicker driving erratically – at an estimated speed of 100 mph – when he ran a red light and hit a Ford pickup truck.
Witnesses also stated Rosas attempted to drive away from the scene of the crash, but he fled on foot after his vehicle became disabled. He was later apprehended by police while walking on the side of a road with his hands, legs and bare feet covered in blood, ESPN reported.
“We are aware of the situation and have been in contact with Aldrick,” the Giants said in a statement. “We have no further comment at this time.”
This is the second high-profile offseason arrest among Giants players, CNN reported.
Cornerback DeAndre Baker is facing eight counts of armed robbery and aggravated assault with a firearm in connection with a South Florida house party in May.
