Legislative leaders have released the newly proposed congressional map for Georgia, putting the newest district in the northeast corner of the state.
Georgia earned a new seat due to increased population which was heaviest in northern part of the state.
The new district includes part of Forsyth County and all of Gov. Nathan Deal's home county of Hall.
"I think overall they are fair maps... they are going to be new territories included in districts that have not been included in those districts before," he says.
Other changes include splitting Gwinnett County, currently represented by Congressman Rob Woodall, into three districts.
U.S. Rep. John Lewis will loose part of Buckhead and Sandy Springs to U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey and U.S. Rep. Tom Price. Congressman Tom Graves would represent most of northwest Georgia.
U.S. Rep. John Barrow, the last remaining white Democrat in the state, was drawn out of his district in Savannah.
