Police are investigating a suspicious death in College Park.

Officers say a relative discovered a woman’s body Sunday morning at the Alexandria Landing Apartments on Godby Road.

Family members identified the victim as Dashanna Raglin, 40. Police are trying to figure out how she died.

Cindy Raglin says her brother found their sister, Dashanna Raglin, dead inside her College Park apartment Sunday afternoon.

“He found her lying between the bed and the night stand with a dog leash tied around her neck,” said Cindy Raglin.

Oteria Fambro was with Raglin’s brother and says she saw firsthand what happened to Dashanna. She told us it looked like her 40-year-old neighbor fought for her life.

“She was trying to get away because blood was on the phone and stuff like she was trying to call 911,” said Fambro.

Fambro described the scene as bloody and gruesome.

“She was strangled like a collar around her neck and I saw a hole, don't know if it was a gunshot or what,” said Fambro.

Homicide detectives were on the scene Sunday working to process the area. They are calling it a death investigation and say they are working it as a homicide even though they have not officially ruled it murder.

Dashanna Raglin’s family is convinced she was killed.

“I won’t rest. I hope College Park hears me, I won’t rest until this murder is solved,” said Cindy Ragland.

Cindy Raglin told us her sister was a sickle cell patient and a port that was in her chest had been cut out. Police say the door was barricaded from the inside.

“The world is going to miss her smile, her laughter, her jokes, her trying to dance with no rhythm," said Fambro.

Police say Dashanna Raglin was last seen a live around 8 a.m. Saturday.

Detectives sent an email Sunday night stating they've developed several leads after questioning Raglin’s woman's brother and another man all day.

The medical examiner expects to have an exact cause of death sometime tomorrow.
