Out of hundreds of races in the state of Georgia, seven headed to a runoff. Five are state or local races and two are federal races, both for the U.S. Senate.

The local and state runoff election was held on Dec. 1.
The federal runoff election will be held on Jan. 5 and early voting begins on Dec. 14. You can also vote by absentee ballot. Here’s what you need to know to do that.

Note: Former Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall & former Morehouse College President Robert Franklin are looking to win the special election to fill the remainder of the term of the late John Lewis. The term will only be about 6 weeks, until State Sen. Nikema Williams is sworn in for the new term.
