The political spotlight is shining bright on Georgia with the U.S. Senate runoff election on Jan. 5. All four candidates are bringing out the big names to rally voters next week.

Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will campaign for Democratic challengers Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. She will make stops in Columbus and Suwanee. More details will be released closer to the events.

Meanwhile, Republican incumbents Sen. David Perdue and Sen. Kelly Loeffler will receive support on the campaign trail Monday from Ivanka Trump. President Donald Trump’s daughter and adviser will stop in Milton, Suwanee and Walton County.

The trips from Harris and Trump come in the middle of early voting across the state and are the latest in a string of visits this month.

On Tuesday, President-elect Joe Biden visited Atlanta and spoke on Warnock and Ossoff’s behalf at a car rally.

On Thursday, Vice President Mike Pence made his fourth visit to the state since Election Day to support Loeffler and Perdue. Pence attended rallies in Columbus and Macon.

Biden told Georgia voters that they must deliver two Democratic Senate runoffs victories in January so his administration can forcefully confront the coronavirus pandemic and other national challenges.

“It would make a great deal of difference if we win both these races. It’s 50-50 and the vice president breaks the tie,” Biden said. “It would be a position where we have a much better chance of making sure we get the COVID initiative I put forward.”

Pence said it was essential that Perdue and Loeffler remain in the Senate to preserve work done under the outgoing Trump administration. He also refused to acknowledge that he and Trump lost the election.

“We need Georgia to send these two great senators back to Washington because of who they are, because of all that we’ve accomplished together and because a Republican Senate majority could be the last line of defense to preserve all that we’ve done for this country,” Pence said.
