SWAT standoff in Sandy Springs ends peacefully

A SWAT standoff in Sandy Springs ends with a shooting victim in the hospital and the suspected shooter in jail.

Sandy Springs Police Captain Keith Zgonc tells WSB Lamar Reese, 61, shot his 34-year-old neighbor at the Parc at Dunwoody Apartments, Saturday night.

"The victim in this case was inside his apartment," said Zgonc. "And the suspect was also inside HIS apartment, both in the same building."

Police deployed a SWAT team after Reese refused to surrender, although he was taken into custody without major incident. The victim was sent to Grady Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators are looking for a motive, but Zgonc says Reese has a history of arguments with neighbors.
