The Associated Press says Griner has been going through hundreds of emails from players sent to an email account her agent set up to be able to communicate with her. She has been responding to the emails, too. However, the process is not an easy one.

The AP says the emails are printed out and given to Griner’s lawyer once Russian officials go through them. Griner doesn’t have access to the direct email account so when she writes a response it is on paper and her lawyers will take a photo of it or she will tell them what to say.

Griner has been detained in Russia for over a hundred days after vape cartridges with cannabis oil were allegedly found in her luggage in Moscow, the AP says. She is facing drug smuggling charges that carry a maximum of ten years in prison in Russia.

Last month, according to the AP, the Biden administration said that Griner is being wrongfully detained. In May, her detainment was extended another month until mid-June at least.
