People across north Georgia might have been woken up by an earthquake early Sunday morning.
The United States Geological Survey said a 5.1 earthquake hit about two miles south of Sparta, North Carolina around 8:07 a.m.
But Channel 2 Action News has received many messages and calls from our viewers saying they felt it too. The reports stretched from Blairsville down to parts of Atlanta. Sparta is over 300 miles away from Atlanta.
The USGS is asking anyone who felt the earthquake to send a report. So far, no damage has been spotted. Here is some of the reactions on social media.
