Fort Worth crash: Dog pulled from wreckage of massive Texas pileup

Vehicles are piled up after a fatal crash on Interstate 35 near Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021.  The massive crash involving 75 to 100 vehicles on an icy Texas interstate killed some and injured others, police said, as a winter storm dropped freezing rain, sleet and snow on parts of the U.S.

FORT WORTH, Texas — As crews continue to comb the wreckage of a massive pileup in Forth Worth, Texas, they were able to rescue a dog from a vehicle and the rescue was caught on camera.

The dog was pulled out of a truck that had been pinned between other vehicles.

The dog was taken to a nearby police vehicle, but there is no word on the condition of the dog’s owner, KVTV reported.

The crash happened Thursday morning on Interstate 35W near downtown Fort Worth, the Star-Telegram reported.

The wreckage stretched nearly a mile with about 100 vehicles involved, according to the newspaper.

Officials said wet and slick road conditions contributed to the crash, KVTV reported.

At least five people were killed and dozens were injured.
