The University of Georgia is, for a second straight year, canceling all its Maymester study abroad programs. The cancellation comes amid ongoing concerns about the coronavirus pandemic. UGA says a decision on summer study abroad programs will be made by next month.

The University of Georgia is expected to release later this morning the results of the latest week of campus coronavirus testing: UGA reported last week the lowest number of positive tests since before last year’s Thanksgiving break.

There are new deaths attributed to coronavirus in the latest report from the Georgia Department of Public Health: Oconee County’s total since March of last year climbs to 55; there have been 105 COVID 19 deaths in Clarke County.

Meantime, several weather in other parts of the country is getting the blame for a slowdown in vaccine distribution here in Georgia.
