Warrants Issued in UGA Locker Room Thefts

The three people accused of stealing items from the lockers of UGA football players are from the state of Georgia.

University of Georgia police have taken out arrest warrants for three people from Columbus for the thefts on April 7. They are accused of stealing electronics from the lockers in Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall during an open house at the recently renovated building, the Athens Banner-Herald reports. Police would not release the suspects' names.

The stolen items include iPhones and iPods. They were valued at $1,330, UGA police said. The building is usually protected by fingerprint identification, but it was unsecured for faculty appreciation day.

The seven players are Jamel Allen, Kenarious Gates, Abry Jones, Jordan Love, Rhett McGowan, Alec Ogletree and Shawn Williams.
