Graduate student Aimee Copeland continues to battle a flesh-eating bacteria after suffering a fall from a homemade zip line.

Historic Banning Mills Founder Michael Holder tells Channel 2 Action News he has noticed a 30 percent decline in business since this tragedy unfolded earlier this month.

"People were afraid to book, afraid to stay here, canceling reservations because they thought or were afraid that it could have been here," said Holder.

The incident did not happen in Whitesburg at Holder's facility; instead it happened miles away on a homemade zip line.

"There's not much you can say when people already have it in their minds and they are relating it to us.  They think you are actually covering something up," said Holder.

He says professional courses like his are inspected and must meet federal safety standards.
