A: What a great houseplant! Also known as umbrella plant, some stay bushy, but many can grow to more than six feet tall! This is a tropical plant, so it definitely prefers bright, sunny rooms and some humidity.
As gardeners bring plants like this inside to protect them from the winter elements, it’s important to check for insects like spider mites and aphids. Keep insecticidal soap on hand as treatment. And if possible, spray larger plants down with a hose before bringing them in to knock off any pests hiding under leaves.
Back to the question of where to take such a large plant. I often find that schools, churches, and nursing homes are super appreciative of well taken care of plants! Call ahead so as to not lug it around for nothing. Good luck!
