Falcons’ season begins with a thud in Minnesota

Well, that was ugly. The Falcons’ hopes to get off to a fast start in their 2019 season was a crash and burn in Minnesota on Sunday. The Vikings ran-off for the easy 28-12 win.

The Falcons trailed 14-0 after one quarter, 21-0 at the half, then trailed 28-0 after three quarters before finally denting the scoreboard.

QB Matt Ryan went 33-46 passing for 304 yards but threw two interceptions to go along with two touchdowns. Receivers Calvin Ridley and Julio Jones each caught a touchdown pass.

Vikings’ running back Dalvin Cook torched Atlanta for 111 yards rushing and a pair of TD’s.

The Falcons will look to rebound in their home opener next Sunday night against the Eagles.
