CUMMING, GA. — South Carolina made about as public a push for 4-star Oscar Delp as you could make. His name was plastered in downtown Columbia, S.C., mentioned by current players and everything in between. The Gamecocks wanted Delp bad.
And it did not matter. While Delp saw a great opportunity at South Carolina — where his mother is also an alum — he ultimately decided to play for the in-state Georgia Bulldogs.
In addition to South Carolina, Delp picked Georgia on Wednesday over finalists Michigan and Clemson. The Bulldogs add the No. 3 tight end in the 247Sports Composite rankings and the No. 97 overall player. Delp becomes the 18th commitment in the class, which currently sits at No. 3 in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
