Braves postpone Austin Riley bobblehead night due to “supply chain” issues

ATLANTA — Those of you hoping to get an Austin Riley bobblehead Thursday night at the Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies game will have to wait just a little bit longer.

On Sept. 30, the Braves had planned to have 15,000 bobbleheads with the likeness of their popular third baseman who’s having a spectacular 2021 season.

The team is blaming the delay on COVID-19 “supply chain” issues as the reason for the delay.

The Braves have rescheduled the event however. If you want to attend the Braves vs. Washington Nationals game on Tuesday, April 12, the team plans to have the bobbleheads ready to go. They will also fans with tickets to the originally scheduled game a 20% discount on tickets for the 2022 game.

The Braves play the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday and Thursday night and are looking to clinch their fourth straight National League East title. Going into Wednesday’s game, they lead the Phillies by 3.5 games with five games left in the season.

Riley has been a big part of the team’s success this year. The third year, third baseman is batting .301 on the season with 32 home runs and 100 runs batted in.
